本标准规定了有光、半消光纤维级聚酯切片的术语、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则及标志、包装、运输、贮存。本标准适用于以对苯二甲酸、乙二醇为原料，采用直接酯化连接缩聚或间歇缩聚和以对苯二甲酸二甲酯、乙二醇为原料，采用酯交换连续缩聚或间歇缩聚工艺生产的供涤纶纺长丝、短纤维等用的纤维级聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯切片。
