本标准根据ISO 10291、ISO 10292、ISO 10293重新起草。
中空玻璃U值（传热系数）是用于表征中空玻璃热的传递性能，U值的确定可以由测试热阻获得，也可以通过测试玻璃辐射率后计算得出。
本标准规定了中空玻璃稳定状态下U值（传热系数）计算及测定的三种方法。
本标准适用于由平板玻璃（包括压花、浇注玻璃）、镀膜玻璃或其他材料构成的平型双层或多层中空玻璃，不适用于外片是透过远红外材料构成的中空玻璃。本标准规定的测试方法只测定中空玻璃中央区域的U值（传热系数），不考虑边部效应和太阳辐射影响。曲面中空玻璃的U值可用相同结构的平型中空玻璃计算和测定。
