1 Scope This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, package, storage and preservation of automotive alternator. This standard is applicable to automotive alternator (hereinafter referred to as "alternator"). 2 Normative References The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. GB 18655 Limits and Methods of Measurement of Radio Disturbance Characteristics for the Protection of Receivers Used on Board Vehicles (idt IEC/CISPR 25) QC/T 413-2002 Basic Technical Requirements for Automotive Electric Equipment QC/T 424 Test Method for Electrical Characteristic of Automotive Alternator ISO 7637-2:2004 Road Vehicles - Electrical Disturbances from Conduction and Coupling - Part 2: Electrical Transient Conduction along Supply Lines Only 3 Terminologies and Definitions For the purposes of this standard, the following terminologies and definitions apply. 3.1 Test voltage, Ut The specified voltage value when testing the characteristics of output current. 3.2 Rated speed, nR The speed of alternator when testing the hot-state rated current output IR at the ambient temperature of 23℃±5℃ and test voltage Ut. 3.3 Maximum operating speed, nmax The maximum rotation speed that may appear when alternator is actually used. 3.4 Cold output of alternator The cold current output value of alternator at the ambient temperature of 23℃±5℃ and test voltage Ut. 3.5 Hot output of alternator The current output value of the alternator when it operates continuously for more than 0.5h at the ambient temperature of 23℃±5℃ and test voltage Ut and its body temperature reaches stable state. 4 Requirements
