SH/T 0168-1992(2000) Petroleum products — Determination of chromaticity
1 Subject content and applicable scope
This standard specifies the method for determination of chromaticity of petroleum products.
This standard is applicable to all kinds of lubricating oil, kerosene and diesel oil and other petroleum products.
2 Normative References
GB/T 6540 Petroleum products - Determination of colour
3 Method summary
The sample is injected into the colorimetric tube, and then compared with the standard glass color sheet, and its equivalent color number is used as the chromaticity of the sample.
4 Apparatus and materials
4.1 Apparatus
4.1.1 Colorimeter: it is composed of light source, standard color disc, prism and observation eyepiece, etc., and attached with a colorimetric tube (see Annex A). The colorimeter shall be adjusted at the factory so that the luminosity of the two halves of the field of view is the same.
4.1.2 Colorimetric tube: a flat bottom cylinder made of colorless transparent glass and with an inner diameter of 32.5 to 33.4mm and a height of 120 to 130mm (see Annex A).
4.2 Materials
4.2.1 Kerosene: for diluting dark oil products. Color: water white, and not greater than No. 1 chroma of this standard.
4.2.2 Mirror cleaning paper.
