1 General 1.1 Scope This standard applies to a.c. switchgear and controlgear designed for indoor and outdoor installation and for operation at service frequencies are 50Hz on systems having voltages at 3.0kV and above. This standard applies to all high-voltage switchgear and controlgear except as otherwise specified in the relevant standards for the particular type of switchgear and controlgear. Note: For the use of this standard, the voltage range of high voltage switchgear is the rated voltage at 3.6kVand above. Generally, they are divided into medium voltage switchgear, high voltage switchgear and extra high voltage switchgear. The rated voltage range of medium voltage switchgear is usually 3.6kV~40.5kV; the rated voltage range of high voltage switchgear is 72.5kV~252kV; the rated voltage range of extra high voltage switchgear is 363kV~800kV; the rated voltage range of ultra high voltage switchgear is 1100 kV or above. 1.2 Normative References The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
