Detergent
1 Scope
This standard is applicable to detergents for washing food, tableware, drinkware, as well as tools and equipment in direct contact with food or food packaging materials and containers.
2 Classification
The products are classified into two categories by purpose:
- Class A products, which are detergents directly used for cleaning food;
- Class B products, which are detergents for washing tableware, drinkware, as well as tools and equipment in direct contact with food or food packaging materials and containers.
3 Basic requirements
3.1 When detergents are used under the conditions recommended, the level of substances remain in, or transferred to food shall not endanger human health.
3.2 When detergents are used under the conditions recommended, the level of substances remain in, or transferred to food shall not lead to any change of food composition, structure, color, flavor or other properties, and shall not result in any technical functions of food.
3.3 The raw materials of detergent shall comply with national relevant standards and regulations, and manufacturers shall control unintentional additives such as impurities, decomposition products and reaction products to ensure that products meet the requirements of 3.1 and 3.2.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Requirements for raw materials
4.1.1 Raw material requirements for Class A products
4.1.1.1 The raw materials used for Class A products shall comply with Annex A and relevant announcements.
4.1.1.2 Substances listed in GB 2760 and GB 9685, auxiliary ingredients of food disinfectants allowed in China, colorants and preservatives listed in GB 22115, food raw materials, food extracts, and substances approved for use in relevant announcements may also be used for manufacturing Class A products.
4.1.1.3 The essence used for Class A products shall comply with the provisions of GB 30616.
4.1.2 Raw material requirements for Class B products
4.1.2.1 Class B products shall comply with the provisions of 4.1.1 when using the raw materials allowed for Class A products; preservatives and colorants used can only be the substances that meet the requirements of 4.1.1.
4.1.2.2 The essence used for Class B products shall comply with the provisions of the corresponding product categories in GB/T 22731.
4.1.2.3 In case of using other raw materials for manufacturing Class B products, detergent manufacturers shall evaluate and control the safety of the raw materials used to ensure that the products meet the requirements of 3.1 and 3.2.
4.2 Product Requirements
4.2.1 Physical and chemical indexes
Physical and chemical indexes shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.
