GB 18350-2013/XG1-2016+XG2-2020 Denatured fuel ethanol
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of denatured fuel ethanol.
This standard is applicable to fuel ethanol that is produced from starchy, saccharide, cellulosic, and other raw materials through fermentation, distillation, and dehydration, and then denatured by addition of a denaturant.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
fuel ethanol
ethanol intended for use as fuel without addition of denaturant
3.2
denaturant
blendstock of ethanol gasoline for motor vehicles or ethanol gasoline for motor vehicles added into fuel ethanol to render it unfit for human consumption
3.3
denatured fuel ethanol
fuel ethanol that has been denatured by adding a denaturant to render it unfit for human consumption, and is used for blending ethanol gasoline for motor vehicles, which may be blended with gasoline at specified ratios for use as fuel for automotive spark-ignition internal combustion engines

4 Requirements
4.1 Requirements for main raw materials
4.1.1 Fuel ethanol
The density of fuel ethanol at 20℃ shall be within the range of 0.7918g/cm3 to 0.7893g/cm3.
4.1.2 Denaturant
The denaturant added to fuel ethanol shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 22030 or GB 18351. No other oxygenates shall be artificially added.
4.2 Technical requirements
4.2.1 Addition rate of denaturant
The volumetric mixing ratio of fuel ethanol to denaturant shall be 100:1 to 100:5, i.e., the volume fraction of denaturant in denatured fuel ethanol shall be 0.99% to 4.76%.
4.2.2 Metal corrosion inhibitor
An effective metal corrosion inhibitor shall be added to meet the copper strip corrosion requirements for ethanol gasoline for motor vehicles.
4.2.3 Physical and chemical indexes
The physical and chemical indexes of denatured fuel ethanol shall meet those specified in Table 1.

5 Test methods
5.1 Density of fuel ethanol
The density of fuel ethanol at 20℃ shall be determined by the pycnometer method specified in GB/T 611-2006 or the digital densitometer method specified in GB/T 4472.
5.2 Denatured fuel ethanol
5.2.1 Appearance
At ambient indoor temperature, take 50mL of the specimen into a 100mL colorimetric tube and observe visually under bright light.
5.2.2 Ethanol content
Determine in accordance with the method specified in Annex A.
5.2.3 Methanol content
Determine in accordance with the method specified in Annex A.
5.2.4 Solvent-washed gum content
Determine in accordance with the method specified in GB/T 8019.
5.2.5 Moisture content
Determine in accordance with the method specified in Annex B.
5.2.6 Inorganic chloride content
Determine in accordance with the method specified in Annex C, with the potentiometric titration as the arbitration method.
5.2.7 Acidity
Determine in accordance with the method specified in Annex D.
5.2.8 Copper content
Determine in accordance with the method specified in Annex E.

Determine in accordance with the method specified in Annex F.

4 Requirements

5 Test methods
5.1 Density of fuel ethanol
