This document is applicable to the design, manufacture and inspection of manual fire call points used in industrial and civil buildings.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
manual fire call points
trigger device that sends out a fire alarm signal by manually starting it
3.2
normal working condition
working condition of a manual fire call point where the voltage is rated, the frangible elements and operating elements are not operating, and no alarm or fault signal is sent
3.3
alarm condition
condition of a manual fire call point where the frangible elements and operating elements send out a fire alarm signal after action
3.4
front face
visible area on the front of a manual fire call point, excluding areas of the operating face
3.5
operating face
area for manual operation on the front of a manual fire call point
3.6
frangible element
component that will be physically broken or undergo a significant change in position after manual operation and remain in this state until replaced or reset
3.7
non-resettable frangible element
component that needs to be replaced after operation so that a manual fire call point can be restored to normal working condition
3.8
resettable frangible element
component that can be returned to the original position with special tools without replacement, so that a manual fire call point can be restored to normal working condition
3.9
operating element
mechanical or electrical switching element that causes a manual fire call point to send a fire alarm signal after action
3.10
special tool
tool of special shape or structure supplied by the manufacturer for replacing or resetting frangible elements
NOTE: Special tools are used to prevent unauthorized persons from operating the manual fire call points.
4 Classification
4.1 By applicable site
Manual fire call points (hereinafter referred to as "call points") are classified into the following by their applicable sites:
a) Indoor ordinary;
b) indoor explosion-proof;
c) Outdoor ordinary;
d) Outdoor explosion-proof.
4.2 By resettability
Call points are classified into the following by the resettability of their frangible elements:
a) Resettable;
b) Non-resettable.

1 Scope

3 Terms and definitions
