1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, general requirements, quality index and test methods, judgment and handling, inspection interval and sampling, mixing, recycling and disposal of various types of heat transfer fluids used in heat transfer fluids boilers and their heating systems, and the cleaning, replacement and disuse of heating systems.
This standard is applicable to heat transfer fluids with various heat transfer fluids boilers as heating equipment and indirect heating as the purpose, and is not applicable to heat transfer fluids with only freezing and cryogenic cooling as purposes.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
heat transfer fluids
a general term of organic substances being used as heat transfer medium
Note: Heat transfer fluids includes all organic media for indirect heat transfer purposes, such as heat transfer fluids, heat oils, organic heat transfer carriers, and heating media. It may be classified into synthetic heat transfer fluids and mineral heat transfer fluids according to chemical composition, and be classified into vapour phase heat transfer fluids and liquid phase heat transfer fluids according to the boiling range.
3.2
unused heat transfer fluids
the heat transfer fluids that has not been used in the heating system
3.3
heat transfer fluids in use
the heat transfer fluids that has been used in the heating system
3.4
synthetic heat transfer fluids
a kind of heat transfer fluids with certain chemical structure and defined chemical name, which is produced by chemical synthesis process
Note: The synthetic heat transfer fluids may be classified into ordinary synthetic type and synthetic type with special high thermal stability according to maximum permitted bulk temperature.
