This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB 25501-2010 Minimum allowable values of water efficiency and water efficiency grades for faucets, and the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB 25501-2010:
——the scope of standard is modified;
——some terms and definitions are modified;
——the basic requirements are modified;
——the index of uniformity of flow is modified.
——the index of water efficiency grade for faucet is modified;
This standard was proposed by the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China and the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China.
This standard was firstly issued in January, 2011 and is revised for the first time.
Minimum allowable values of water efficiency and water efficiency grades for faucets
1 Scope
This standard specifies the minimum allowable values of water efficiency, evaluating values of water conservation, water efficiency grades and test methods for faucets.
This standard is applicable to the water efficiency evaluation of washbasin faucets, kitchen faucets, bidets faucets and ordinary washing faucets that are installed at ends of cold and hot water supply pipelines in buildings, with nominal pressure (static pressure) of not greater than 1.0 MPa and medium temperature of 4℃~ 90℃.
This standard is not applicable to water faucets with delayed self-closing function.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 33733 and the following apply.
3.1
Uniformity of flow
△F
the difference between the highest average flow and the lowest average flow of the faucet under different test pressures
3.2
minimum allowable values of water efficiency for faucet
the maximum allowable flow of the faucet under the test conditions specified in the standard
3.3
evaluating values or water conservation for faucet
the maximum allowable flow of the water-conservation faucet under the test conditions specified in the standard
Note: The evaluating values of water conservation are a requirement for evaluating the water-conservation faucets.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Basic requirements
Faucets shall meet the requirements of the standard prescribed expressly.
4.2 Uniformity of flow
As tested by Sub-clause 5.2, the uniformity of flow of the washbasin faucets, kitchen faucets and bidgets faucets shall not be greater than 3.0 L/min.
4.3 Water efficiency grades for faucets
4.3.1 The water efficiency for faucets is classified into 3 grades, with Grade 3 representing the lowest one.
4.3.2 As tested by Sub-clause 5.1, the flow of all grades of faucets shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.
4.3.3 The water efficiency grades for multi-stage faucets at a high stage shall not be lower than Grade 3, and the actual water efficiency grades achieved at a high stage shall be taken as the water efficiency grades for the faucets.
