3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
fixed water supply equipment used for fire-protection
general term for a complete set of equipment fixedly installed in a building, to be equipped with components according to the needs of water fire extinguishing system and supply fire water according to the preset working mode
3.2
gas pressure fixed water supply equipment used for fire-protection
fixed water supply equipment used for fire-protection with water tank with pressurized gas as its core component, supplying water continuously to fire-protection pipe network at the set pressure
3.3
emergency type gas pressure fixed water supply equipment without fire pump used for fire-protection
gas pressure water supply equipment which relies on the effective water volume for fire protection discharged from the water tank with pressurized gas to meet the water demand at the initial stage of fire protection and which is not equipped with a fire pump set
3.4
pressurization type gas pressure fixed water supply equipment with fire pump used for fire-protection
gas pressure water supply equipment which is additionally equipped with fire pump set on the basis of emergency type gas pressure fixed water supply equipment without fire pump used for fire-protection, and which can supply pressurized water in case of fire-protection condition
3.5
water tank with pressurized gas
pressure vessel which can store water and gas, and work according to Boyle's law to supply water by using the expansion characteristics of compressed gas
3.6
pressurized gas shut off unit
device for preventing the gas in the water tank with pressurized gas from leaking to the water supply pipe network to maintain the normal operation of the system
3.7
upper limit of stabilizing pressure, p4
maximum pressure for the fixed water supply equipment used for fire-protection to maintain normal stable pressure operation, that is, the pressure in the water tank with pressurized gas when water supply is stopped
3.8
lower limit of stabilizing pressure, p3
minimum pressure for the fixed water supply equipment used for fire-protection to maintain normal stable pressure operation, that is, the pressure in the water tank with pressurized gas when water supply starts
3.9
gas supply pressure setpoint, p1
operating pressure of pressurized gas shut off unit for water tank with pressurized gas of air replenishment type or in-tank or in-capsule gas-filling pressure of capsule-type water tank with pressurized gas
3.10
effective water volume for fire protection, V3
water consumption at the initial stage of fire protection provided by water tank with pressurized gas, which can meet the water supply pressure at the most unfavorable point of the system, which is generally the amount of water discharged by water tank with pressurized gas from the lower limit of stabilizing pressure (p3) to gas supply pressure setpoint (p1)
