Minimum allowable value of water efficiency and water efficiency grades for water purifier
1 Scope
This document specifies the minimum allowable value of water efficiency, water efficiency grades, technical requirements and test methods for water purifier.
This document is applicable to small water purifiers for domestic or similar use which use municipal tap water or other centralized water supply as feed water and reverse osmosis membrane or nanofiltration membrane as the main purification element.
This document is not applicable to any large water purifier with a length or width or height of ≥ 2,000mm, a mass of ≥ 100 kg and a water flow of ≥ 3 L/min.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute indispensable provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 5749, GB/T 19249 and GB/T 30307 and the following apply.
3.1
water purifier
system consisting of one or more filter elements for drinking water treatment that can improve water quality
3.2
reverse osmosis water purifier
water purifier for improving water quality and for domestic or similar use, which uses municipal tap water or other centralized water supply as feed water and reverse osmosis membrane filter as the core treatment element
3.3
nanofiltration water purifier
water purifier for improving water quality and for domestic or similar use, which uses municipal tap water or other centralized water supply as feed water and nanofiltration membrane filter element as the core treatment element
3.4
purified water flow rate
quantity of water produced per unit time under specified test conditions
Note: the unit is L/min.
3.5
purified water production rate
ratio of the total purified water from a water purifier to the total inflow water after the feed water is purified under the specified test conditions
3.6
concentrate
water that has been concentrated due to increased salt content after treatment by a purifier
Note: the unit is L.
3.7
minimum allowable value of water efficiency for water purifier
minimum allowable purified water production rate and rated total water purification capacity of a water purifier under the specified test conditions
4 Water efficiency grades for water purifier
The water efficiency grades for water purifier are classified into 3 grades, with Grade 1 as the highest. The purified water production rates and nominal rated total water purification capacities of water purifiers of each grades shall meet the requirements of Table 1.
