Textile - Evaluation for electrostatic properties - Part 3: Electric charge
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 12703 specifies the test method for measuring the electric charge generated by friction on garments and other textile products.
This part is applicable to all kinds of garments and other textile products, and it may serve a reference standard for other products.
2 Normative References
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of GB/T 12703. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply to this part. However, parties to agreements based on this part are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document applies.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this part of GB/T 12703, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
electric charge
charge carried by the sample after rubbing with the standard cloth for a certain period of time
4 Principle
A friction device is used to simulate the circumstance that the sample carries electric charge due to friction, and then the sample is put into a Faraday cylinder for measurement of the electric charge.
5 Apparatus
5.1 Faraday cylinder system
See Figure 1.
