1 Scope
This part of GB/T 12972 specifies the product classification, general technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules of flexible rubber-sheathed cables for mining purposes.
This part is applicable to the flexible copper-core rubber-insulated/sheathed cables with AC rated voltage U0/U of 6/10kV.
This part shall be used together with the subsequent parts of GB/T 12972.

3.1
rated voltages
rated voltage is the reference voltage used in cable design and electrical property test, represented by U0/U and expressed in kV
U0 is the RMS voltage between any main insulated-conductor and the "ground" (the metallic screen, metallic sheath or ambient medium)
U is the RMS voltage between any two-phase conductors in the multi-core or single-core cable system
When the cable is used for AC system, the rated voltage of cable shall at least be the rated voltage of this system; when the cable is used for DC system, the rated voltage of this system shall not be greater than 1.5 times the rated voltage of cable
The working voltage of system shall not be greater than 1.1 times the rated voltage of system
3.2
type tests
T
tests done on a kind of cables specified in this standard according to the general commercial principles before delivery of goods, in order to prove that the cables have good performance and meet the specified operating requirements
Note: for the essence of type tests, once these tests are carried out, there is no need to repeat unless the change of cable material or design may affect the cable performance.
