1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination of silicon, manganese, phosphonium, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, cuprum, vanadium, cobalt, titanium and aluminium by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometric method.
This method is applicable to the content determination of silicon, manganese, phosphonium, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, cuprum, vanadium, cobalt, titanium and aluminium in carbon steel and low alloy steel whose iron mass fraction is greater than 92%; the ranges of multi-element contents are detailed in Table 1.
The silicon, titanium and aluminium determined according to this method refer to acid-soluble silicon, acid-soluble titanium and acid-soluble aluminium respectively.
This standard will not apply where only one element in steel exceeds the upper limit of content range specified in Table 1.
This standard will also not apply where the mass fraction of carbon and sulphur are greater than 1.0% and the mass fraction of wolfram and niobium is greater than 0.10%.
