This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 2520-2008 Cold-reduced electrolytic tinplate The following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 2520-2008:
——The thickness of single cold-reduced products in the applicable scope is modified to 0.14 mm~0.80 mm (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of 2008 edition);
——The classification method is modified, the passivation method is modified to the surface treatment method, and the “no treatment" is added (see Table 1, 2008 edition);
——The definition of "chemical treated electrolytic tinplate" is deleted (see 3.7 of 2008 edition);
——The immersion solution of chemical passivation and electrochemical passivation is modified (see 3.7 and 3.8 herein; 3.8 and 3.9 of 2008 edition);
——The content of "The nominal thickness may be upgraded by other thickness multiples after negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser" is added (see 6.1.1);
——The steel grade of black plate and chemical composition of the cold-reduced tinplate is added; and the criteria for chemical composition testing methods in the normative reference documents is added (see Clause 2 and Table 2).
——The requirements for the limitation of toxic and harmful elements in the black plate and tin coating of the tinplate used for producing containers in direct contact with food, medicine and beverage (with or without organic coating on the surface) is added (see 7.1.3 and 7.3.5);
——The requirement of the minimum average tin coating mass when ordering with tin coating mass other than the specified mass is added (see 7.3.1);
——The requirement of "the rounding interval of a single point test value on each side is 0.05g/m2" is added (see 7.3.3);

Cold-reduced electrolytic tinplate
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification and code, ordering content, dimension, shape, weight, tolerance, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and product quality certificates for cold-reduced electrolytic tinplate.
This standard is applicable to single cold-reduced electrolytic tinplate with a nominal thickness of 0.14mm~0.80mm and double cold-reduced electrolytic tinplate with a nominal thickness of 0.12mm~0.36mm (hereinafter collectively referred to as “tinplate”).

4.2 Designation representation method
4.2.1 For general tinplate, their designation generally consists of steel grade of black plate, temper code and annealing mode code.
Example: MR T-2.5 CA, L T-3 BA and MR DR-8 BA
4.2.2 For tinplate used to produce 2-piece drawing (DI), steel grade of black plate is only applicable to Grade D. Its designation consists of Grade D code, temper code, annealing mode code and code DI.
Example: D T-2.5 CA DI
4.2.3 For tinplate used to produce food cans with plain surface (tin coating mass: 5.6/2.8g/m2) holding acidic content, namely K plate, steel grade of black plate is generally Grade L. Its designation generally consists of Grade L code, temper code, annealing mode code and code K.
