GB/T 2910.24-2009 Textiles—Quantitative chemical analysis—Part 24:Mixtures of polyester and some other fibers(method using phenol and tetrachloroethane) (English Version)
Textiles - Quantitative chemical analysis - Part 24: Mixtures of polyester and some other fibers (method using phenol and tetrachloroethane)
Warning: Users of this standard shall be experienced in normal laboratory practicing. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to ensure compliance with any national regulatory conditions.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 2910 specifies a method using phenol and tetrachloroethane to determine the percentage of polyester after removal of non-fibrous matter, in textiles made of binary mixtures of certain polyester with polyacrylonitrile fiber, modified polyacrylonitrile fiber, polypropylene fiber or aramid fiber.
This part is not applicable to coated fabrics.

The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this part of GB/T 2910, constitute provisions of this part. For dated references, subsequent amendments to (excluding correction to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this part are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. GB/T 2910.1 Textiles - Quantitative chemical analysis - Part 1: General principles of testing (GB/T 2910.1-2009, ISO -120062006, IDT)
3 Principle
The polyester fiber is dissolved out from a known dry mass of the mixture, with a reagent composed of phenol and tetrachloroethane. The residue is collected, washed, dried and weighed; its mass, corrected if necessary, is expressed as a percentage of the dry mass of the mixture. The percentage of polyester is found by difference.
4 Reagents
Use the reagents described in GB/T 2910.1, together with those specified in this part.
4.1 Phenol and tetrachloroethane mixture: the reagent mass ratio is 6:4.
