Methods of measuring and evaluating vibration of pumps
1 Scope
This standard specifies the vibration measurement on the surface of non-rotating parts of pumps, measuring instruments and evaluating vibration of pumps.
This standard is applicable to various types of pumps with rotating speed of 600 r/min~12000 r/min (pumps with speed less than 600 r/min can refer to it), and pump units with coaxial pump and motor (or pump shaft and motor shaft connected by rigid coupling).
This standard does not apply to submersible pumps, reciprocating positive displacement pumps and internal-combustion engine driven pump units.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions specified in GB/T 7021 and GB/T 2298 and the following apply.
3.1
vibration severity
one or a group of data, such as maximum value, average value, root-mean-square value or other vibration parameters, involving multiple transient values or multiple average values
Note 1: Vibration severity is a general term, which was used frequently when involved with vibration speed. But now displacement, acceleration and other measurements are used more frequently.
Note 2: The vibration severity of machine is defined as the maximum value of vibration measured at many different points of the machine, such as shaft, bearing, etc.
Note 3: The duration of vibration is sometimes included in the vibration severity parameters, which is no longer advocated.
4 Measurement
4.1 Measurement parameters
4.1.1 Frequency range
