1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of shop primer for ship building.
This standard is applicable to shop primer applied after the steel plates, profile steels and molded parts for ship building have met the requirements for the required grades of surface treatment by shot blasting (or sand blasting). The shop primer serves as a rust-proofing primer for temporary protection of steel.
