1 Scope
This standard specifies the dimensional requirements for cover-plates, adjusting plates and boxes for electrical accessories.
This standard is applicable to cover-plates, adjusting plates and boxes for mounting for household and similar purposes, with a rated voltage of 440 Va.c. and 630 Vd.c. or below and a rated current of 63 A or below.
It also applies to mounting or suspending boxes for luminaires and boxes for floor sockets.
This standard neither applies to the cover-plates, adjusting plates and boxes in the combined electrical accessories equipped with overcurrent protection devices, nor to those in the busbar trunking type electrical accessories.
This standard does not apply to cover-plates, adjusting plates and boxes assembled with and specially designed for the equipment.
