1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements and test methods of coatings for automotive plastic parts.
This standard is applicable to the decorative and/or protective coatings for interior plastic parts, exterior plastic parts and underhood plastic parts. The coatings for small plastic parts such as standard fasteners and buckles can refer to this standard.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

plastic parts mounted on the automotive body or inside the cab

exterior plastic parts
plastic parts mounted on the automotive body or outside the cab

underhood plastic parts
plastic parts mounted inside the automotive engine compartment
3.4
sample piece
a test specimen which is taken from a complete product or part of the product in actual assembly state
3.5
template
a test specimen which has the same substrate as the sample piece, and a coated plastic plate which is prepared by the same coating process
4 Classification of coatings
The coatings are classified according to the mounting location of the automotive plastic parts and the ambient conditions. Classification, code, service condition and application example of coatings are given in Table 1.
