1 Scope
This standard specifies the definitions, test methods, acceptance criteria, marking and packaging, and performance of housing and shed materials and core fittings of DC composite insulators (hereinafter referred to as "insulators").
This standard is applicable to the long rod composite insulators for ±500kV and above DC lines and converter stations, and DC long rod composite insulators of other voltage classes may refer to this standard, while line post insulator is beyond the application scope of this standard.
Ambient temperature at installation site of insulator generally is -40℃~+40℃.
Composite insulator specified in this standard refers to the one made by adopting high-temperature vulcanized silicon rubber on high-temperature resistant and acid-resistant core.
This standard excludes requirements about the selection of insulator according to specific operating conditions.
