FZ/T 32001-2018 Flax yarn
1 Scope
This document specifies the conventional moisture regain, variety, specification, labelling,technical requirements, sampling and testing, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of flax yarn products (including oil and fiber dual-use flax).
This document is applicable to identify the quality of wet-spun long and tow flax yarn (gray yarn and bleached yarn) produced by ring spinning frame and serves as unified regulations for handing over acceptance.

3 The conventional moisture regain, variety, specification and marking of products
3.1 Conventional moisture regain
The conventional moisture regain of flax yarn is 12.0%.
3.2 Variety
The variety of flax yarn can be classified into the wet-spun hackled flax yarn and wet-spun tow flax yarn according to the spinning system, and it can also be classified into the gray yarn and bleached yarn according to the colour.
3.3 Specification
3.3.1 Specification of flax yarn is expressed in nominal linear density (Tt) or metric
count (Nm).
3.3.2 The nominal linear density (Tt) is the mass of yarn (in grams) of 1000-meter of
yarn in the conventional moisture regain, as shown in formula (1). ………………………………………(1)
where
Tt is the nominal linear density, in tex;
M is the mass of yarn in the conventional moisture regain, in grams(g);
L is the length, in meters(m).
3.3.3 Metric count (Nm) is the length (in meters) of one gram of yarn in the
conventional moisture regain, as shown in formula (2). ………………………………………(2)
where
Nm is the metric count, in Nm;
L is the length, in meters(m);
M is the mass of yarn in the conventional moisture regain, in grams(g).
3.3.4 The conversion between nominal linear density and metric count of flax yarn is done according to FZ/T 01035.
3.3.5 Calculation of mass of 100-meter flax yarn seen in Annex A.
3.4 Labelling
3.4.1 The varieties of flax yarn shall be labeled according to codes of spinning system, codes of colour and nominal linear density (tex) (or metric count). The codes are expressed as follows:
L- hackled flax yarn, S - tow flax yarn, N - gray flax yarn, B - bleached flax yarn.
Example 1: The hackled bleached flax yarn with the linear density of 41.7 tex (or Nm 24) shall be labeled BL 41.7 tex (or BL Nm 24 ).
Example 2: The hackled gray flax yarn with the linear density of 41.7 tex (or Nm 24) shall be labeled
NL 41.7 tex (or NL Nm 24).
Example 3: The tow bleached flax yarn with the linear density of 41.7 tex (or Nm 24) shall be labeled
BS 41.7 tex (or BS Nm 24).
Example 4: The tow gray flax yarn with the linear density of 41.7 tex (or Nm 24) shall be labeled NS
41.7 tex (or NS Nm 24).
3.4.2 If the customer has any special requirements, the additional agreement shall be signed between the supply and acceptance parties.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Technical requirements for flax yarn see Table 1.
