1 Scope
This standard specifies the method of test for determining the underarm seam strength with constant rate of extension (CRE) testing machine.
This standard is applicable to knitted garments.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
constant rate of extension (CRE) testing machine
a kind of test instrument to make direct ratio between specimen extension and time when one clamper for clamping specimen is fixed and the other moves at constant speed throughout the test
3.2
gauge length
distance between two effective clamping points for clamping specimen on test device
3.3
seam strength
the maximum tensile force applied to the specimen (with a seam) in the direction perpendicular to the seam under the specified conditions until the seam ruptures
