3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 police ballistic resistance of body armor
clothing that can absorb and dissipate the warhead energy, prevent perforation, reduce blunt trauma and effectively protect the body protective parts, including armor carrier, trunk armor panel and accessory of ballistic resistance of body armor
3.2 armor panel
general term for protective structures that effectively prevent warhead perforation and prevent or mitigate blunt trauma to human body, including ballistic panel, trauma plate and protective cover of ballistic panel
3.3 ballistic panel
structure composed of ballistic-resistant materials that absorbs and dissipates energy and prevents warhead perforation
3.4 trauma plate
structure placed behind the ballistic panel to reduce blunt trauma to human body caused by the impact of a stopped warhead
3.5 ballistic insert plate
unit made of ballistic-resistant material to enhance the ballistic resistance of ballistic resistance of body armor in designated area
3.6 protective cover of ballistic panel
structure used to protect the ballistic panel from light and moisture
3.7 accessory of ballistic resistance of body armor
ballistic-resistant structure that protects parts other than the trunk of human body, such as neck guard, crotch guard, shoulder guard, leg guard
3.8 armor carrier
carrier for placing armor panel
3.9 trunk protected area
sum of the extended area of the trunk ballistic panel
3.10 strike face
armor panel surface firstly exposed to the warhead impact
3.11 wear face
armor panel surface attached to the body
3.12 backing material
material used to simulate the trunk
3.13 backing material fixture
mold composed of a frame made of backing material and rigid material, of which the back plate of frame is a detachable wooden insert plate
3.14 angle of incidence
included angle between the warhead flight direction and the normal of the shot tangent plane, see Figure 1
