1 Subject Content and Applicable Scope
This Standard specifies the methods for determination of cadmium in feeds.
This Standard is applicable to the determination of cadmium in feeds.
2 Principle
Dissolve specimen by dry ashing method, cadmium ion and iodide ion form complex where there is potassium iodide under acidic condition, which will be extracted and separated by methyl isobutyl ketone. Spray air-acetylene flame to organic phase to atomize cadmium to determine the absorbance of 228.8 nm on characteristic resonance line and calculate cadmium content via comparison with standard series.
3 Reagents and Solutions
Unless otherwise specified, all the reagents adopted in this Standard are analytically pure and water is redistilled water.
3.1 Nitric acid (GB 626), guaranteed reagent.
