1.1 This standard specifies two methods for the determination of water turbidity. Section 1 specifies spectrophotometry method which is applicable to drinkable water, natural water and high turbidity water, the minimum turbidity for the inspection this method is 3°.Section 2 specifies visual turbidimetry which is applicable to such low turbidity water as drinkable water and source water, the minimum turbidity for the inspection method is 1°.
1.2 The water shall be free from chippings and easy-sunk particles. The determination will be interfered if the applied vessel is unclean or there are dissolved bubbles and colored matters in the water.
