Nuclear criticality safety for fissile materials outside reactors - Part 2: Basic technical practices and subcritical limits for handling processing and operations with fissile materia English
After determining the deductions corresponding to accuracy and precision of the calculational method as well as the bias and uncertainty in the bias, an appropriate subcritical margin shall be applied to keff (or other related parameters); the margin shall be large enough to ensure that the case calculated by this method is definitely subcritical in practice; like bias and uncertainty in the bias, this margin may vary with components and other variables (see Annexes B and C).
5.5 Check of computer programs
When being included in the calculational method, the computer program shall be checked to verify that the mathematical operation is carried out as expected. In case of any modification to the computer program, re-check shall be conducted.
5.6 Nuclear characteristic parameters
The nuclear characteristic parameters (such as cross section data) used in the calculational method should be consistent with the measurement results of the experiment.
