1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions for point type combustible gas detectors for industrial and commercial use, specifies classification and naming, requirements, inspection rules, and marking and packaging, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to the design, manufacture and inspection of point type combustible gas detector (hereinafter referred to as "detector") products used in industrial and commercial premises.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 lower explosive limit; LEL
Under standard atmospheric conditions, the minimum concentration of a combustible gas or vapour in air that will explode.
3.2 monitoring condition
The state of a detector after it has been powered on and is operating normally, without any combustible gas alarm, fault, selftest, sensor endoflife, etc., occurring.
3.3 industrial detectors
Detectors installed in industrial sites where various types of combustible gases and volatile combustible liquids are stored, transported, used or produced, for the purpose of realtime monitoring of the concentration of combustible gases and vapours in the area.
3.4 commercial detectors
Detectors installed in various public and commercial premises other than residential environments such as houses and apartments, for the purpose of realtime monitoring of the concentration of methane, propane and carbon monoxide in the area.
3.5 industrial and commercial detectors
Detectors that have both the functions of industrial detectors and commercial detectors, meeting the performance requirements for both industrial and commercial premises.
3.6 pipeline and well detectors
Detectors installed in closed environments such as underground pipelines and shafts where there is a risk of combustible gas accumulation, for the purpose of periodic monitoring of the concentration of combustible gases in the area.
3.7 systembased detectors
Industrial or commercial detectors that have their own operating status indication function and, after establishing communication with control and indicating equipment such as a combustible gas alarm control unit via wired or wireless communication means, can realise the functions of a combustible gas detection and alarm system.

4.1 Detectors are classified according to the applicable location as:

4.2 Detectors are classified according to the sampling method as:
a)Free diffusion detectors;
b) Active suction detectors.
4.3 Industrial detectors, commercial detectors, and industrial and commercial detectors are classified according to the mode of operation as:
a)Systembased detectors;
b) Standalone detectors.
4.4 Industrial detectors are classified according to the measurement range as:
a)Detectors with a measurement range from 3% LEL to 100% LEL;
b) Detectors with a measurement range below 3% LEL (including detectors for carbon monoxide).
4.5 Industrial detectors are classified according to the use environment as:
a)Detectors for indoor use;

5 Requirements
5.1 General requirements
5.1.1 Detectors shall meet the requirements of this clause and shall be tested in accordance with Clause 6 to confirm conformity with the requirements of this clause.
5.1.2 The model designation of detectors shall comply with Annex B.
5.2 Enclosure and explosion protection requirements
5.2.1 The surface of detectors shall be free from corrosion, coating peeling and blistering, and free from obvious scratches, cracks, burrs and other mechanical damage. Fastened parts shall be free from loosening.
