1 Scope
This Standard specifies performance requirements and test methods of direct current and compressed-air driven horns for motor vehicles, as well as horns installed in motor vehicles.
This Standard is applicable to motor vehicles of categories M, N, L3, L4 and L5.

3 Performance Requirements and Test Methods
3.1 Performance Requirement
3.1.1 General
The electric horn shall emit a continuous and uniform sound. For pneumatic and electro-pneumatic horns, the time lapse between the moment when the horn is actuated and the moment when the sound-pressure level prescribed in 3.1.2 is reached shall not exceed 0.2 second (s).
