Medical glass thermometer
1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements, inspection rules, marking, instructions for use of medical glass thermometer, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to medical glass thermometers (hereinafter referred to as glass thermometers) which are used for measuring human body temperature and have a temperature retention structure and the temperature sensing medium is liquid.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
scale line
a line engraved on a glass rod or scale plate to indicate temperature values
Note: Also known as the scale mark.
3.2
scale plate
a flat, colored (e.g., opalescent) sheet in which scale lines, scale values, and other symbols are printed
Note: Also known as the scale panel.
3.3
liquid column receding solely
phenomenon of the temperature sensing liquid column of glass thermometer retreating to the direction of temperature sensing bubble in the above part of the retaining structure
Note: Indicates the stability of glass thermometers in a certain period of time.
3.4
liquid column receding difficultly
under the action of a certain external force, the temperature-sensing liquid column of glass thermometer is difficult to recede
3.5
liquid column gap
liquid column of glass thermometer is in a state of disconnection above the retaining point structure
4 Requirements
4.1 Types
4.1.1 The type and measuring range of glass thermometers shall meet those specified in Table 1.
