1 Scope
This standard specifies the limits of dimensions, axle load and masses for the motor vehicle, trailer and automobile train.
This standard is applicable to the motor vehicle (except the crane truck whose maximum total design mass is greater than 26000 kg), trailer and automobile train used on the roads. This standard is not applicable to the special-purpose vehicles of military equipment.

4 Requirements
Vehicles specified in this standard shall meet the corresponding requirements of Sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4.
4.1 Overall dimension requirements for vehicles
4.1.1 Overall dimension limits for vehicles
The overall dimension of motor vehicle, trailer and automobile train shall not be greater than the maximum limits specified in Table 1.
4.1.2 Other requirements for the overall dimension of vehicles
4.1.2.1 In the case of motor vehicle or automobile train at the full-load state, if the bottom edge of outer rearview mirror is less than 1800mm away from the ground, the unilateral overhang shall not exceed 200mm at the maximum width of motor vehicle or train . If the height from the bottom edge of outer rearview mirror to the ground is greater than or equal to 1800mm, the unilateral overhang shall not exceed the maximum width of motor vehicle or train 250mm.
4.1.2.2 When the transom window and air interchanger of motor vehicle are in opening state, it shall not exceed 300mm of the vehicle height.
4.1.2.3 The distance between the rear axle of motor vehicle and front axle of trailer shall not be less than 3.00m (except the hauling mid-axle trailer).
4.1.2.4 Motor vehicle and automobile train (not counting in the projecting part of special device with operation functions) must be able to pass through the same vehicle clearance circle; the excircle diameter of vehicle clearance circle D1 is 25.00m and the inner circle diameter of vehicle clearance circle D2 is 10.60m.Where the motor vehicle and automobile train transit from the straight-line running to the above-mentioned circular motion, the value (vehicle out value) T of any part exceeding the vertical plane of vehicle lateral surface in the straight-line running shall not be greater than 0.80m (the vehicle out value T of single-hinged bus shall not be greater than 1.20m); measuring method is detailed in Appendix A.
