1 Scope
This standard specifies issues regarding the installation of household and similar air-conditioning units, including personal and property safety (of users and installers) while installation, the surrounding environment, the functions of product reservation, the installation requirements, installation operations, inspection and trial operation, inspection methods, and installer qualifications, etc.
This standard applies to the installation of household and similar air-conditionings that directly cool or heat indoor air.
Note 1: The re-installation of household and similar air-conditionings after use (such as relocation installation, maintenance disassembly, etc.) can consult this standard.
Note 2: Annex A is applicable to installation of household central air-conditionings.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
household central air-conditioning
air-conditionings, with centralized cooling or heating sources, that are mainly used in households and similar places
3.2
air-conditioning installation
the process in which professional installers fix the air-conditioning in a reasonable position and carry out the correct combination, connection, and debugging according to the user's actual environmental conditions and reasonable installation requirements, so that the air-conditioning can function properly as a whole
3.3
installation surface
the bearing surface that supports and fixes the air-conditioning, usually referring to the wall, floor and roof of the building
3.4
installation rack
a component capable of reliably fixing the air-conditioning on the installation surface
3.5
manifold pipe
a device for distributing refrigerant according to a prescribed flow rate
3.6
qualified installation person
a person, authorized to complete air-conditioning installation tasks in a safe manner, who is proficient in the installation process and has basic knowledge of refrigeration and electrical safety, technical experience with air-conditioning installation qualification certificate
3.7
user
individuals, families or social groups that use air-conditioning products and accept air-conditioning installation services
3.8
service life of installation
the service term of a qualified air-conditioning that has been properly installed and used, usually measured by “years”
