1 Scope
This standard specifies the required health protection zones from industrial enterprises by noise to residential area.
This standard is applicable to newly-built, extended and renovated industrial enterprises with main pollution as noise such as textile, printing nail manufacturing, mechanical processing, woodware manufacturing, moulded coal processing, flourmill, steel rolling, forging, motor vehicle and tractor production, steel wire rope factory. Existing enterprises of this type may refer to it. Health protection zone of complicated terrain condition shall be jointly determined by the competent department of construction organization and the sanitation, environmental protection and urban construction planning department of the construction project located province, city, municipality in accordance with the practical monitored evaluation report.
This standard is not applicable to industrial enterprises by air pollution such as chemical industry, pesticide, rubber, pharmacy, papermaking, metal smelting, thermal power station, mining, glass, rockwool, cement and fire retardant material.

For the purposes of this standard, the following definitions apply.
2.1 Health protection zone
Minimum distance from the boundary of the department (workshop or section) generating adverse factors to the boundary of residential area.

3.1 For health protection zone of industrial enterprises by noise, according to their production scale, noise source strength and effect of noise treatment measures, the specifications are shown as in Table 1.
