1 Scope
This Standard specifies the classification and marking, performance parameter, performance requirements, test methods and inspection rules etc. of fire monitors.
This Standard is applicable to various fire monitors.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this Standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Fire monitor
It refers to the equipment that sprays extinguishing agent in the form of jet flow with the flow of water and foam solution greater than 16 L/s or the spraying rate of dry powder greater than 7 kg /s.
3.2
Fixed fire monitor
It refers to fire monitors installed at fixed support, including those fixedly mounted on the fire-fighting trucks.
3.3
Movable or portable fire monitor
It refers to fire monitors installed at movable support, including those fixedly mounted on trailers.
4 Classification and Marking
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 According to spraying medium, they may be classified into:
a) Fire-fighting water monitor (hereinafter referred to as water monitor);
b) Fire-fighting air foam monitor (hereinafter referred to as foam monitor);
c) Fire-fighting dry powder monitor (hereinafter referred to as dry powder monitor).
4.1.2 According to control mode, they are classified into:
a) Manual fire monitor;
b) Electric control fire monitor;
c) Hydraulic control fire monitor.
4.1.3 According to service function, they may be classified into:
a) Single-purpose fire monitor;
a) Dual-purpose fire monitor;
c) Combined fire monitor.
4.1.4 According to the inhalation mode of foam concentrate, they are classified into:
a) Spontaneous inhalation foam monitor;
b) Non-spontaneous inhalation foam monitor;
