Roof crush resistance of passenger cars
1 Scope
This document specifies the roof crush resistance requirements for passenger compartments of passenger cars.
This document is applicable to Category M1 cars, not applicable to convertibles.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1
altered roof
replacement roof that is reinstalled at a height higher than the original roof of the vehicle which has been partially or completely removed
Note: If part or whole of the original roof of a vehicle is altered by a roof with safety glass material (e.g. Materials for T-shaped roof and sunroof) and the alteration roof is mounted on the same plane as the original roof, the roof is not considered as an altered roof.
