Fire-resistant cable trunking
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and codes, specifications, models, technical requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage for fire-resistant cable trunking (hereinafter referred to as "trunking"), and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to the design, manufacture and quality inspection of fire-resistant cable trunking used in industrial and civil buildings for laying power cables, control cables and communication cables of 1 kV and below.
2 Normative references
The following documents, in whole or in part, are normatively referenced in this document and are indispensable for its application. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
fire-resistant cable trunking
A continuous rigid structure composed of a tray and a cover plate, used for laying and supporting cables, capable of meeting specified fire-resistant working duration requirements.
3.2
working duration under fire test
The time from the start of the fire resistance test under standard temperature rise conditions until the 2 A fuse connected to the cable inside the trunking specimen blows.
3.3
safe working load
The maximum load that can be safely applied during normal use.
4 Classification and codes, specifications, models
4.1 Classification and codes
4.1.1 Trunking is classified into three categories according to the type of cable laid inside, with classification and codes given in Table 1.
4.1.2 The fire resistance of trunking is classified into four categories according to the working duration under fire test, with classification and codes given in Table 2.
4.2 Specifications
The specifications of trunking are usually expressed by the internal cavity width and height, with common specifications given in Table 3.
4.3 Models
The model designation method for trunking is shown in Figure 1.
Example 1: NDH-400×150-DL/F1.0, KZ/F0.5-ventilated type, indicating an internal cavity width of 400 mm, height of 150 mm, fire resistance of Class F1.0 when laying power cables (working duration under fire test ≥ 60 min), fire resistance of Class F0.5 when laying control cables (working duration under fire test ≥ 30 min), working duration under fire test of less than 30 min when laying communication cables, and enterprise-defined content of ventilated type.
Example 2: NDH-600×150-DL/F1.5, KZ/F1.5, TX/F1.5-abc, indicating an internal cavity width of 600 mm, height of 150 mm, fire resistance of Class F1.5 when laying power cables (working duration under fire test ≥ 90 min), fire resistance of Class F1.5 when laying control cables (working duration under fire test ≥ 90 min), fire resistance of Class F1.5 when laying communication cables (working duration under fire test ≥ 90 min), and enterprise-defined content of abc.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Appearance
5.1.1 The surfaces of all components of the trunking shall be flat, free from cracks, indentations and obvious depressions, hammer marks and burrs.
5.1.2 The welded surfaces of the trunking shall be smooth, free from blowholes, slag inclusions and porosity.
5.1.3 The protective layer of coated components of the trunking shall be uniform, free from peeling, flaking, blistering, missed coating or runs.
5.1.4 A permanent product marking nameplate shall be applied to a prominent position on the trunking, and shall not be attached by adhesive. The nameplate shall have clear and legible lettering, and its content shall comply with the requirements of 8.1.
5.2 Material performance
5.2.1 Where metal sheets are used for manufacturing the trunking, the minimum permissible thickness of the sheets shall comply with the provisions of Table 4.
5.2.2 The burning behaviour of non-metallic sheets and filling materials used for manufacturing the trunking shall comply with Class A as specified in GB 8624.
5.3 Load-bearing capacity
The commissioning party of the test shall specify the safe working load of the trunking in the technical documents. The ratio of the maximum deflection of the trunking under the safe working load to its calculated span shall not exceed 1/200.
5.4 Fire resistance
The fire resistance of the trunking shall comply with the provisions of Table 2.
