1 Scope
This part of GB 30000 specifies the terms and definitions, classification, judgment logic and guidance and labelling of substances and mixtures which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases.
This part is applicable to the classification and labelling of substances and mixtures which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases according to the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (hereinafter referred to as GHS).

For the purposes of this document, the term and definition given in GB 13690 and the following apply.

substances and mixtures, solid or liquid, which, by interaction with water, are prone to spontaneous combustion or to emit dangerous amounts of flammable gases

4.2 Classification
Substances and mixtures which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases are classified in accordance with the N.5 test in Part 3, 33.4.1.4 of the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods: Manual of Tests and Criteria (Rev.5) (hereinafter referred to as "Manual of Tests and Criteria") , see Table 1.
