Self-igniting light for lifebuoy and self-activating smoke signal
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, storage and transportation of the self-igniting light and self-activating smoke signals (hereinafter referred to as the "combined signals") for lifebuoys.
This standard is applicable to the design, manufacture and acceptance of combined signals.
This standard is also applicable to the self-activating smoke signals for lifebuoys.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
self-igniting light and self-activating smoke signal
signal that is, when in use, capable of generating the indicating light and smoke by itself only by means of the automatic release device
4 Designation example
The combined signals with a continuous smoke development time of not less than 15min, and a luminous intensity of not less than 2cd and a luminous time of not less than 2h of self-igniting light are designated as follows:
Combined signal QCYD15-2-2 GB 3107-2008
5 Requirements
5.1 Appearance
5.1.1 Concise operation instructions shall be printed on the body of the combined signal.
5.1.2 The manufacturing date and expiration date shall be permanently engraved on the body of the combined signal.
5.2 Combined signal
5.2.1 Smoke color
The smoke shall be orange in color.
5.2.2 Smoke development time
The duration of smoke shall not be less than 15min.
5.2.3 Smoke concentration
After the combined signal is ignited, it shall be able to evenly and continuously eject smoke, and the smoke concentration shall not be less than 70% within at least 15min.
