1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification principles and classes of the physical work intensity.
This standard is applicable to the physical works and is the basis for the labor safety, health and management.
2 Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following definitions apply.
2.1 Energy metabolic rate (M)
The average value of the energy consumption in various activities and rest in the work day of a type of work, expressed in kJ/(min•m2).
2.2 Working time rate (T)
The ratio of the normal time in a working day to the total time of this working day, expressed in percent.
2.3 Sex coefficient of physical work (S)
When calculating the intensity index of physical work, the sex coefficient is used in order to reflect the different physiological reactions caused by different sexes (male and female) at the same physical work intensity. The male coefficient is 1 and the female coefficient is 1.3.
2.4 Way coefficient of physical work (W)
When calculating the intensity index of physical work, the way coefficient of physical work is used in order to reflect the different physiological reactions of human body caused by the different work ways at the same physical work intensity. The way coefficient of lifting by hands is 1, that of carrying on the shoulder is 0.40 and that of pushing/pulling is 0.05.
2.5 Intensity index of physical work (I)
It is used to distinguish the intensity class of physical work. A big index reflects a high intensity of physical work and a small index reflects a low intensity of physical work.
