3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions specified in GB/T 5907 and GB/T 4968 and the following apply.
3.1
characterization statement
data information on the physical or chemical properties of powder extinguishing agent provided by the manufacturer or the inspection entrusting party. Including the content of chemical content, bulk density, particle size distribution, and fire extinguishing performance
3.2
chemical content
basic components constituting the powder extinguishing agent, which excludes additives used to improve properties such as storage, moisture resistance, and fluidity of the extinguishing agent
3.3
major chemical content
component with the highest content among the chemical contents constituting the powder extinguishing agent
3.4
batch
uniform products produced by the same formula and the same process during a single one-time feeding of materials
3.5
lot
multiple batches of products produced under the same conditions of formula, process and raw materials, with a total volume not exceeding 25t
Note: Any major changes in production personnel, manufacturing processes, raw materials or environmental conditions are regarded as different lots.
4 Model
The model of powder extinguishing agent is indicated by a combination of the code of the fire type it is applicable to extinguish, the content of the chemical content, and the enterprise-defined code, among which the total content of the chemical content shall not be less than 90%.
Example: ABC-NH4H2PO4(75%) + (NH4)2SO4 (15%)-B indicates the ABC powder extinguishing agent including the chemical contents of 75% ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and 15% ammonium sulfate. It is suitable for extinguishing Classes A, B and C fires, with the enterprise-defined code of B.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 General requirements
5.1.1 The raw materials and production processes of powder extinguishing agents shall comply with the requirements of laws, regulations and mandatory national standards regarding personal health, safety and environmental protection.
5.1.2 The following performance parameters of powder extinguishing agent shall be indicated at least on the product packaging or in the instruction manual:
a) Name and content of the chemical content (see Table 1);
b) Bulk density (see Table 1);
c) Particle size distribution (see Table 1);
d) Types of fires that may be extinguished.
5.1.3 Powder extinguishing agents of different models or with different production processes must not be mixed in situations such as filling fire extinguishers, fire engines, fire extinguishing systems, and maintenance of fire extinguishing equipment.
5.2 Performance requirements
The main performance of the powder extinguishing agent shall be as specified in Table 1.
6 Test methods
6.1 Content of chemical content
The method for testing the content of sodium bicarbonate is shown in Annex A.
The method for testing the content of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate is shown in Annex B.
