3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 19510.1, GB/T 19510.201~203, GB/T 19510.207~209, GB 19510.210 and GB/T 19510.211~213 as well as the following apply.
3.1
controlgear for light sources
unit between the supply and one or more light sources to provide rated voltage or current to the light source
Note 1: The controlgear for light sources consists of one or more independent components.
Note 2: The controlgear for light sources have one or more control functions such as triggering, dimming, power factor correction and radio interference suppression.
Note 3: The controlgear for light sources consists of a power supply unit and/or a control unit.
Note 4: The controlgear for light sources is partially or fully integrated in the light source.
3.1.1
built-in controlgear for light sources
controlgear for light sources designed to be built into a luminaire, a box, an enclosure or the like
Note: The controlgear compartment in the base of a road lighting column is considered to be an enclosure.
3.1.2
independent controlgear for light sources
controlgear for light sources consisting of one or more components so designed that it can be mounted separately outside a luminaire, with protection according to the marking of the controlgear for light sources and without any additional enclosure
Note: This may consist of a built-in controlgear for light sources housed in a suitable enclosure which provides all the necessary protection according to its markings.
