1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated with the view to adapting the development of aero-engine test run technology, ensuring the design quality, and implementing the relevant national principles and policies in the design of test cell, and achieving safety and usability, advanced technology, economy and rationality.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design for newly-built aero-engine enclosed test cell of aviation turbine jet, turbofan, turbine-propeller and turbine shaft engines.
1.0.3 Besides this code, the test cell design shall also meet the requirements of the current relevant standards and codes of the nation.
2 Terminologies
2.0.1 Aero-engine enclosed test cell
It is the test facility, which is the general terms of aero-engine test plant building and test equipment and used to inspect the assembly quality, working performance and durable test run of aero-engine, hereinafter referred to as test cell.
2.0.2 Master test cell
It refers to the test cell used for master test run, and transmits the standard in the process of calibrating the newly-built and re-built test cells.
2.0.3 Intake stack
The general terms of air intake stack, muffler device and rectifying device, etc. of test cell.
2.0.4 Test chamber
The area for installing and testing the engine in the test cell.
2.0.5 Exhaust stack
The general terms of exhaust injection cylinder, the exhaust noise elimination room and muffler device of test cell.
2.0.6 Thrust frame
It refers to the important equipment used for fixing the engine and constitutes the engine (thrust and power) together with thrust transducer (for turbine jet and turbofan), dynamometer (for turbine shaft and turbine-propeller engine) and secondary instrument.
2.0.7 Engine handling system
The transportation system of upper rail transporting the engine from preparation room to test chamber.
2.0.8 Control room
The room used to place the control platform and other equipment and where the test run personnel can complete the engine test run.
2.0.9 Measurement room
The room used to place various measurement instruments and where the test run personnel can complete the engine test run measurement.
2.0.10 Hydraulic room
The room used to place the grease for test run, hydraulic control, hydraulic pump load systems and other equipment.
2.0.11 Preparation room
The room used for the preparation before engine test run and the storage after test run.
2.0.12 Electrical room
The room used to place the power supply, electrical cabinet and other equipment used for test run.
2.0.13 Fuel room
The room used to place the fuel pipe, filter, valve, flow measuring device and other equipment used for test run.
2.0.14 Fuel heating room
The room used to place fuel heating equipment for test run.
3 Processes
3.1 General Requirements
3.1.1 The design of test cell shall be determined according to the type and parameters of engine. The main engine types shall include turbine jet engine, turbofan engine, turbine shaft engine and turbine-propeller engine; the main engine parameters shall include the maximum thrust (power), maximum mass/diameter/length, air flow, exhaust temperature, exhaust pressure, maximum fuel consumption and sectional area of final nozzle.
3.1.2 For the test cell of engine with vector nozzle, its exhaust system shall guarantee smooth exhaust in case of the nozzle deflection of engine.
3.1.3 As for the engine test cell which is carried out with reverse thrust test run, reverse thrust exhaust collector shall be set.
