1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This Code is formulated with view to standardizing the process design of welded pipe mill set, guaranteeing the process design quality of welded pipe mill set, promoting the improvement of the technology and equipment level of welded pipe mill set in China, and promoting the progress of welded pipe manufacturing technology.
1.0.2 This Code is applicable to the construction, renovation and extension design of longitudinally high frequency welded pipe, longitudinally submerged arc welded pipe, spiral submerged-arc welded pipe and industrial stainless steel welded pipe mill set.
1.0.3 The constructed, renovated and extended welded pipe mill sets shall meet the national industrial policies and shall achieve high quality, high efficiency, low consumption and environmental protection.
1.0.4 In addition to the requirements stipulated in this Code, the process design of welded pipe mill set shall also comply with those in the current relevant standards of the Nation.

2.0.1 Spot welding
The welding method using electric arc as the heat source and smelting the welded joint of the workpiece to form the spot or discontinuous weld.
