1.0.1 This Code is formulated with a view to ensure the design of steel tank foundation, live up to economic feasibility, safety application, state-of-art technology and environment protection.
1.0.2 This Code is applicable to the design of vertical cylindrical steel tank foundation (hereafter referred to as simply "tank foundation") for crude oil, petroleum products and other similar liquid that with storage medium deadweight of no greater than 10kN/m3 at atmospheric pressure.
This Code is not applicable to the design of tanks storing low temperature, utmost or highly harmful medium toxicity, and acid or alkaline corrosive medium and elevated tank foundation
1.0.3 The design of tank foundation shall not only comply with those specified in this Code, but shall also comply with relevant regulations of current standards of the nation.
