1 Scope
This Part of GB 5296 specifies the basic principles, marking contents, forms, riding positions, font style and font size requirements for the instructions for use of toys.
This Part is applicable to the instructions for use of toys.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions established in GB 5296.1 as well as the following ones are applicable to this Part.
3.1
Toys
The products or materials designed or obviously predetermined for children below 14 years old to play.
3.2
Instruction for use
It refers to the information tools that convey how to correctly and safely use the products to the users. It generally conveys information by the forms of use instructions, labels and marks. It can use documents, words and expressions, nameplates, symbols, charts, diagrams and auditory or visual information in separate or combined method. They may be used on the products and packages, or as the accompanying information such as leaflet information, manual, tape, videotape and computer information.

Permanent label
It refers to the labels that are attached to the products permanently, can bear the use processes specified in the instruction for use and maintain legibility.
4 Basic Principles
4.1 Toy products delivery shall include the instructions for use.
4.2 Instructions for use shall help the consumers correctly and safely use the toys as well as minimize the danger caused by misuse.
4.3 Instructions for use shall actually reflect the using effects of products, which shall not cover the defects of design.
4.4 The toys that may cause harm in use shall be provided with safety caution descriptions or caution marks.
4.5 Compilation of instructions for use, safety cautions and durability of instructions for use shall meet the requirements of GB 5296.1.
