1 General provisions
1.1 This is formulated to prevent electromagnetic radiation pollution, protect the environment, safeguard public health and facilitate the practices accompanied by electromagnetic radiation.
1.2 This is applicable to all entities, individual, facilities or equipments generating electromagnetic radiation within the People's Republic of China. But the protection limit here is not applicable to patient medical treatment or diagnoses radiation.
1.3 The protection limit applicable frequency range is 100 kHz ~ 300GHz.See the figure below for the relation between limit and frequency.
1.4 The protection limit is the upper limit, including various possible electromagnetic radiation pollutant total amount value.
1.5 All units or individual generating electromagnetic radiation pollution shall minimize the radiation in a reasonable way and lower the contamination level of electromagnetic radiation.
1.6 All units or department generating electromagnetic radiation shall develop respective authorized limits (standard) which shall be stricter than that in this one.
2 Electromagnetic radiation protection limit
2.1 Basic limits
2.1.1 Occupational exposure: during the 8-hour each day the 6 min whole-body average specific absorption rate (SAR) shall be less than 0.1W/kg.
2.1.2 Public exposure: during the 24-hour each day the 6 min whole-body average specific absorption rate (SAR) shall be less than 0.02W/kg.
2.2 Derived limits
2.2.1 Occupational exposure: During the 8-hour working time, the parameter of electromagnetic radiation field shall meet the requirements of Table 1 at any time.
