1 Subject Content
This standard specifies the peel force test of flexible laminated plastics laminated on plastics or other base materials (like aluminum foil, paper, and fabrics).
2 Principle
The T-mode peeling is done for the test pieced of specified width, and the mean peel force of the laminate layer and the base material are tested.
3 Test Equipment
Tensile testing machine with a figure recording device, or there machines meeting the test requirements
4 Test Piece
4.1 Dimension
Method A: 15.0 ±0.1 mm in width, 200 in length; applicable to laminated film, and etc.
Method B: 30.0 ±0.2 mm in width, 150 in length; applicable to artificial leather woven laminated bag, and etc.
4.2 Preparation of Test Pieces
Five stripes of test pieces are respectively scissored longitudinally and horizontally along the width direction of the test sample after two ends (50mm at each end) of the test piece are removed. The lamination direction is longitudinal.
The test piece (laminated layer and the base material) is stripped off 50mm in length along the length direction of the test piece and the stripped part must not have obvious damage. If it is difficult to strip the test piece off, an end (20mm) of the test piece is immersed in appropriate dissolvant, and the peel force test is conducted after the dissolvant fully flashes away. If above process cannot separate the laminate layer from the base material, the test must not be conducted.
