1 Subject and Applicability
This standard specifies the minimum design, construction and operation technical requirements of the Solid Radioactive Waste Processing System (hereinafter referred to as This System) for light water nuclear power plants.
This standard is applicable to the design, construction and operation of the Solid Radioactive Waste Processing System for light water NPPs. The solid radioactive waste processing system for a similar reactor may refer to this standard.
In this standard, the “wet” waste in the Solid Radioactive Waste Processing System begins at the outlets of discharging the spent resins, filter sludge and evaporator concentrates in the Liquid Radioactive Waste Processing System; a wide verity of “dry” waste to be processed shall be collected in place, and transferred into This System by specified containers or vehicles after having finished preliminary package. This System terminates at the point of vehicle’s loading where the container filled with processed waste are transferred to the temporary storehouse of the plants.
