本标准规定了纺织品试样和一块控制标样同时暴露在室温和相对湿度60%±5%，或40±5℃和相对湿度85%±5%的含有臭氧的大气中，直到控制标样显示的颜色相当于褪色标准的颜色，即作为一次循环。不断重复循环试验直至试样达一定的变色，或完成预定的循环次数。本方法适用于测定各类纺织品的颜色在室温和相对湿度不超过65%，以及高温和相对湿度为80%以上的大气中耐臭氧作用的能力。
